Noted journalist Vinod Dua passes away

New Delhi: Noted Indian journalist Vinod Dua passed away this after. He was 67. He breathed his last while undergoing treatment in an intensive care unit (ICU) of a Delhi hospital.

Dua was hospitalised after his condition deteriorated when he came in contract with Covid-19 earlier this year.

“Our irreverent, fearless and extraordinary father, Vinod Dua has passed away. He lived an inimitable life, rising from the refugee colonies of Delhi to the peak of journalistic excellence for over 42 years, always, always speaking truth to power. He is now with our mom, his beloved wife Chinna in heaven where they will continue to sing, cook, travel and drive each other up the wall,” wrote his daughter Mallika Dua on a social media post.

According to Mallika, the deceased journalist’s cremation will be done at Lodhi crematorium at noon tomorrow.

Dua, who was a pioneer in TV journalism in India, had worked with Doordarshan and NDTV for the larger part of his career. This apart, he used to shows on other TV channels and online portals.

Vinod Dua and his wife Padmavati Chinna Dua tested positive for the coronavirus earlier this year following which they were admitted at a hospital in Gurugram. Unfortunately, Chinna Dua succumbed to the virus in June.

On the other hand, Vinod Dua was admitted to different hospitals time and again even after recovering from Covid-19 as his health condition had deteriorated.
