Nabarangpur: As many as five people were critically injured and two died in a bus accident near Sompeta in Odisha-Andhra border today. The bus was en-route to Nabarangpur from Bhubaneswar via Andhra border when it met with the accident.
A total of 33 passengers were on board when the accident took place in which at least five passengers sustained critical injuries.
According to reports, the visibility was reduced due to the dense fog when the passenger bus named ‘Tripathy’ bearing registration No. OD-07-L-1579 dashed against a truck in which the helper of the bus and a woman passenger died on the spot.
On receiving the information, the local police and the fire fighters arrived at the spot to initiate the rescue operation.
The injured people have been rushed to a nearby hospital for immediate medical treatment.
