Puri: The much awaited day for lakhs of devotees to have a glimpse of Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra from their respective chariots has finally come today on the occasion of Rath Yatra.
Lakhs of devotes have gathered on the Bada Danda (Grand Road) of the Pilgrim City to witness the wold famous cart festival.
Here are the rituals and the timing:
- Mangala Alati – 6 AM
- Mailama – 6.10 AM
- Tadapalagi and Rosa Homa – 6.30 AM
- Abakash ritual, Surya Puja and Dwarapala puja – 7.00 AM onwards
- Besha Sesha – 7.30 AM
- Gopala Ballahav, Khechudi Bhoga – 8 AM to 9 AM
- Ratha Pratistha – 9 AM
- Mangalarpana – 9.15 AM
- Pahandi – 9.30 AM to 12:30 PM
- Entry of Madan Mohan – 12.30 PM to 1 PM
- Chitalagi – 1.30 PM to 2 PM
- Chhera Pahanra – 2 PM to 3 PM
- Chariot pulling – 4 PM onwards
