Bhubaneswar: Odisha government on Monday extended the appointment of three retired officers at State Forensic Science Laboratory (SFSL) for one more year.
A notification issued by the Home Department said that the appointment of Achutananda Baliarsingh, Deputy Director (Retd), Biology Division, Prafulla Kumar Mohanty, Assistant Director (Retd), Biology Division and Abhiram Lenka, Scientific Officers (Retd), Biology Division gas been extended for one more year.
Sources said that the retired officers were re-engaged at the city based-SFSL due to shortage of quality manpower.
Odisha DGP RP Sharma had on November 22, 2017 inaugurated the Forensic Laboratory at Rasulgarh. The laboratory has been set up with procurement of latest equipment and software at a cost of about Rs 1 crore.
The much-controversial Kunduli case is one of the many major cases which was examined at the SFSL.
