Kendrapara: An elderly man was killed after being hit by an unknown bike at Rasarpur Square under Aul police limits in the district on Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as Surjit Mallick, a resident of Mahadeiadia village under Rajkanika police limits of Kendrapara district.
Surjit, who set out for a relative’s house located in a neighbouring village in the morning was struck by a speeding vehicle, possibly a four wheeler, from behind at Rasarpur Square killing him on the spot.
Aul Police sent the body for postmortem after reaching the spot later in the morning and are trying to trace the vehicle which managed to escape from the spot following the accident.
