CM to promote Asian Athletics Meet at Patha Utsav on June 25
Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will promote the forthcoming 22nd Asian Athletics Championship at the Bhubaneswar Patha Utsav on June 25.
According to sources, Patnaik, who will attend the event for the first time since its inception, will officially announce hosting of the Championship and urge the people to be involved in it and make the sporting event successful.
The National Flags of all the 45 counties participating in the Athletics Championship will be installed across the Janpath and Kalinga Stadium.
‘Olly’ Turtle, the mascot of the marquee sporting event, will also be included in the Patha Utsav organized by Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).
A special programme – ‘Selfie with ‘Olly’ – will be held during which visitors will be allowed to take selfies with the mascot. Quiz competition on Asian Athletics Championship will also be conducted on Sunday.
This apart, rangoli and drawing competitions will also be held.
In a bid to add more colour to the event and enthrall the visitors, some Bollywood singers and dancers will perform during the programme, said sources.
