US Prez Joe Biden Condoles loss of lives in Odisha train accident

US President Joe Biden expressed his condolences to the victims of the horrific Coromandel train accident which claimed 288 lives.

Washington D.C.: US President Joe Biden expressed his condolences to the victims of the horrific Coromandel train accident. The accident claimed 288 lives and left 1,175 passengers injured.

Joe Biden stated that he was heartbroken by the tragic news of the deadly train crash in Odisha’s Balasore district.

“Our prayers go to those who have lost loved ones and the many who suffered injuries in this terrible incident,” said President Biden, according to an official White House statement.

“The United States and India share deep bonds rooted in the ties of family and culture that reunite our two nations- and people all across America mourn alongside the people of India. As the recovery effort continues, we will hold the people of India in our thought,” the official statement added.

It is pertinent to note here that over 288 people lost their lives in the tragic Coromandel train accident on Friday evening. Nearly 1,175 passengers were left injured.

As per the report total of 1175 injured persons were admitted to various govt and private hospitals. Out of the total 793 have been discharged after treatment. Currently, 382 passengers are now undergoing treatment in various government and private hospitals. The condition of two of them is said to be critical.
