Ukraine-Russia War: I am in the country even though enemy has marked me as target No 1, my family as target No 2: Ukraine President

Kyiv: A day after Russia launched attacked on Ukraine, speculations were ripe that Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky has fled from the country to avoid being killed. However, he released a statement saying that he is still in the country despite being the target No 1.

Volodymyr Zelensky, in a short video said that he remained in the country and is staying in the capital despite rumors that he had fled. “The enemy has marked me as target No. 1,” he said adding “my family as target No. 2.

Volodymyr Zelensky also claimed that 137 Ukrainians, military and civilian, had been killed so far in the Russian invasion that began Thursday morning.
