Google has officially rolled out Android 12 for non-testers along with the launch of Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. Prior to this, Android 12 was available to the developers and selected users for weeks on AOSP. Now, it is available for non-testers. However, all Android users can’t get the Android 12 update as it is only available for Pixel phones.
These following pixel devices can get the Android 12 update now.
Android users who have a Pixel 3, Pixel 3A, Pixel 4, Pixel 4A, Pixel 4A 5G, the Pixel 5, and the Pixel 5A smartphone model install the Android 12 update right now. The latest Android update will also be available on the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro.
Google has promised to release the update for Samsung Galaxy, OnePlus, Oppo, Realme, Tecno, Vivo, and Xiaomi devices later this year.
Google said in its blog that “Today we’re pushing the source to the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) and officially releasing the latest version of Android. Keep an eye out for Android 12 coming to a device near you starting with Pixel in the next few weeks and Samsung Galaxy, OnePlus, Oppo, Realme, Tecno, Vivo, and Xiaomi devices later this year.”
Android 12 comes with an all-new design, called the Material You. The Material You design is said to help users to create more personalized, beautiful apps. The company said that Google has refreshed the app widgets which now makes them more useful, beautiful, and discoverable.
Google has also improved the notifications to make them look more modern and useful. The improved notifications are called all-new Notification UI. “Android 12 also decorates custom notifications with standard accordance to make them consistent with all other notifications,” Google says.
According to Google, Android 12 update will provide users with even more control over their location data. As per google, users can now give app access to approximate location even if it requests a precise location.
