Bhubaneswar: A tragic accident took place at Vani Vihar in the capital city of Odisha this afternoon leaving several people including a policeman injured.
Reportedly, a Bolero car hit a policeman from behind and another youth, who was passing by on a bullet bike. Due to this, the bullet bike broke the barricade of the road and hit another youth, who was coming from the opposite side on an Apache bike.
The Bolero also turned turtle on the road and four passengers sustained injuries, added reports.
On getting the information, Sahid Nagar police arrived at the spot and rushed the policeman, two bikers along with the four injured passengers to a hospital in critical condition.
Two passengers of the Bolero managed to escape from the spot soon after the accident, while another passenger was detained by the police.
The identities of the people who are involved in the road mishap are yet to be ascertained.
From the preliminary investigation, it is being said that the driver of the Bolero was in an inebriated state.
Meanwhile, a probe into the matter is underway.
