South west monsoon is active over Odisha; more rain predicted

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD), here on Sunday said that the south west monsoon has been very active over Odisha due to which several places have been receiving rainfall.

The weather department also predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall at one or two places over the districts Nuapada, Nabarangpur, Bargarh, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Boudh, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda and Sundergarh.

The weatherman further said that light to moderate rainfall has occurred at most places over the districts of Interior Odisha and at many places over the districts of Coastal Odisha with heavy to very heavy rainfall at one or two places over the districts of interior parts of the State.

The chief amount of rainfall recorded in mm are: Kuchinda (Sambalpur) 19, Belgaon (Balangir) 14, Sundergarh (Sundergarh) 11, Chandanpur (Mayurbhanj) 10, Laikera (Jharsuguda) 10, Kesinga (Kalahandi) 10, Jujumura (Sambalpur) 10, Titlagarh (Balangir) 10, Kirmira (Jharsuguda) 9, Madanpur Rampur (Kalahandi) 9, Kolabira (Jharsuguda) 9, Narla (Kalahandi) 8, Lanjigarh (Kalahandi) 8, Khariar (Nawapara) 7.

Likewise, Jharsuguda (Jharsuguda) recorded a rainfall of 6 MM, Bari (Jajpur) 6, Rairakhol (Sambalpur) 6, Chandahandi (Nabarangpur) 5, Saintala (Balangir) 5, Bamra (Sambalpur) 5, Kothaguda (Rayagada) 5, Binjharpur (Jajpur) 5, Bangiriposi (Mayurbhanj) 5, Nuagada (Gajapati) 5, Komna (Nuapada) 4, Kaptipada (Mayurbhanj) 4, Muniguda (Rayagada) 4, Bhawanipatna (Kalahandi) 4, Similiguda (Koraput) 4, Patnagarh (Bolangir) 4, Paikmal (Bargarh) 4, Sambalpur (Sambalpur) 4, R.Udayagiri (Gajapati) 4, Panposh (Sundergarh) 4, Raigarh (Nabarangpur) 3, Jharbandh (Bargarh) 3, Kotagarh (Kandhamal) 3, Gudari (Rayagada) 3, Rayagada (Rayagada) 3, Junagarh (Kalahandi) 3, Attabira (Bargarh) 3, Jamankira (Sambalpur) 3, Nuapada (Nuapada) 3, Tihidi (Bhadrak) 3, Dharamgarh (Kalahandi) 3, Rajgangpur (Sundergarh) 3, Turekela (Balangir) 3, Karanjia (Mayurbhanj) 3, Mandira Dam (Sundergarh) 3, Naktideul (Sambalpur) 3, Gurundia (Sundergarh) 3, Khaprakhol ( Bolangir) 3, Koraput ( Koraput) 3, Balisankara ( Sundargarh) 3, Harichandanpur ( Keonjhargarh) 3, Rengali ( Angul) 3, Puri ( Puri) 3, Tiring ( Mayurbhanj) 3, Kashipur ( Rayagada) 3, Tangi ( Khurda) 3.

The other place which also have received rainfall till now are Bonaigarh (Sundargarh) 3 MM, Chhatrapur (Ganjam) 3 MM, Burla (Sambalpur) 2, Mahendragarh (Gajapati) 2, Udala (Mayurbhanj) 2, Bissam-Cuttack (Rayagada) 2, Gaisilet (Bargarh) 2, Jamsolaghat (Mayurbhanj) 2, Hirakud (Sambalpur) 2, Daringbadi (Kandhamal) 2, Ambadola (Rayagada) 2, Brahmagiri (Puri) 2, Umarkote (Nabarangpur) 2, Satyabadi (Puri) 2, Deogaon (Jharsuguda) 2, Jharigam (Nabarangpur) 2, Tarva (Sonepur) 2, Bonth (Bhadrak) 2, Bargaon (Sundergarh) 2, Chandbali (Bhadrak) 2, Deogarh (Deogarh) 2, Mohana (Gajapati) 2, Gunupur (Rayagada) 2, Kosagumuda (Nabarangpur) 2.

The highest maximum temperature of 36.4 Degree Celsius was recorded at Titilagarh.
