New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi handed over the wining trophy of a national painting competition held under ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ movement to Roshan Kumar Rana from Odisha in New Delhi on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti yesterday.
Modi handed over Rs 1 lakh cash prize and other gifts to Roshan, who secured the first position at the event for his beautiful painting on Swachh Bharat.
Rana, a class V student of Bhangawari Upper Primary School under Sadar block in Kalahandi district, received the award during the Swachh Bharat Diwas function at Vigyan Bhawan.
The competition on Swachh Bharat was held under various categories including essay, painting and film.
Another girl named Siddhi Swayangita Sethi from Boudh got the first prize for her three-minute short film on Swachh Bharat in the Under-18 category.
