Ollywood producer Tutu Nayak is likely to appear at Kharvelnagar police station in Bhubaneswar in connection with the thrashing of a woman journalist
Bhubaneswar: Ollywood producer Tutu Nayak is likely to appear at the Kharvelnagar police station in Bhubaneswar today in connection with the thrashing of a woman journalist while she was covering an event on Friday.
According to sources, the police is going to interrogate regarding the incident and in this regard the Kharvelnagar police had contacted him.
The female journalist had lodged a complaint at the police station yesterday under Sections 341 (wrongful restraint), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 294 (use of obscene words) and 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the IPC.
The police is investigating the incident on the basis of CCTV footage.
The woman journalist Debasmita Rout accused Tutu Nayak of slapping her as she had gone to cover an event in the film hall. When she turned around her boom and mobile fell on the ground. Instead of expressing his concern and picking up my boom and phone, he laughed at me before leaving the spot.
On the other hand, Tutu Nayak claimed that he just patted on her back due to which the boom and mobile phone fell down as she got scared. I didn’t beat her. If I hurt her, I am sorry for that.
