Bhadrak: Mystery shrouded the death of a farmer whose body was found floating in a pond in Kanjiapala village under Dhamnagar Police Station area in Bhadrak district today.
The deceased has been identified as Purna Chandra Prusti of the same locality.
As per the report, Purna had gone missing after leaving his house to look after vegetable farming on the outskirts of the village. A frantic search by his family members didn’t yield any result later in the night.
Some locals found Purna floating in a pond this morning and called up police.
After police reached the spot and fished out the body from the water, serious bruises all over it were noticed, pointing at a foul play.
While family members of the deceased have alleged his murder, the autopsy report is awaited.
