Jewelry Worth 10 Lakh And Rs. 50,000 Cash Looted From A House In Odisha’s Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Jewelry worth 10 lakh and Rs. 50,000 cash has been looted from a house in Bhubaneswar during the Coronavirus lock down period.

The theft occurred on Thursday as the looters broke into a house in Sai Vihar at Tankapani Road in Bhubaneswar under Saheed Nagar police limits.

According to sources, the house in which the loot took place belonged to Asit Patnaik, who belongs to Jagatsinghpur but was living with his family on rent in this house.

The family had gone to their village on 23rd March because of the lockdown and the owner was also not in town.

Taking this opportunity the looters, broke in and took Rs 50,000 in cash. Gold and other valuables worth Rs 10 lakh was also taken away.

Asit knew about the theft after a call from his neighbours. He reached Bhubaneswarand lodged a complaint with the police.

The Police have reached the spot and are investigating into the matter.
