Item girl, Jatra actress Rani Panda donates Rs.50, 000 to CM’s COVID 19 Relief Fund

Bhubaneswar: Rani Panda, the popular and controversial Jatra actress and item girl from Odisha has donated Rs. 50, 000 to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for COVID 19.

The actress has urged people of Odisha to stay at home and abide with the restrictions and regulations set by the Government. “If all of us will follow the instructions and regulations imposed by the Govt, we surely will defeat the Corona fury,” she was seen saying in a video.

Few days back the actress had hit the headlines following her statement regarding her performance in Khandigiri Jatra .

Rani Panda is a popular Odia actress who has many Jatra shows as well as a few films to her credit. Earlier she was in controversy over the dispute between the directors of her upcoming biopic and a jatra show that dwells upon her life as an artist. She was also in news for her semi nude item dance.

    Dear Sir,

    My request to you that please do not use the term “item girl”. It diluted the dignity and respect of a woman in our society. We have no right to do so. Jatra actress or jatra artist or theater artist is good.
