Get tested if you have Covid symptoms, urges Health Director Odisha
The Health Director of Odisha, Bijay Mohapatra on Friday urged people to get tested for Covid if they have any symptoms.
Bhubaneswar: The Health Director of Odisha, Bijay Mohapatra on Friday urged people to get tested for Covid if they have any symptoms. Mohapatra added that, Odisha is yet to show any positive Covid cases.
He nevertheless cautioned people that, this might not be the case for long. He urged the people of Odisha to get tested if they develop any symptoms.
Bijay Mohapatra further added that, cases are increasing regularly in the country. Patients have also been identified in different places. Meanwhile, the state government has also expressed its readiness. The health department has been instructed to be on alert. Health department director Bijay Mohapatra has advised to be cautious.
It is noteworthy that, there is no data on emergence of new variant in Odisha. Guidelines for mandatory mask are yet to be given. So far no Covid cases have been detected in Odisha, but testing is underway said Bijaya Mohapatra, Director of Public Health.
He further added, “We will be cautious as per the instructions of the Government of India and international experts” He appealed for increased surveillance and vigilance. More than 98% of the people who have tested positive in India are being treated at home.
