Koraput: In a major development, Odisha Crime Branch on Thursday arrested dreaded Maoist Madabi Bandi from Koraput district. Bandi was produced before the Magistrate in Koraput today.
The hard-core Maoist was involved in Sunki landmine blast incident in February 2017 that killed as many as eight police officials travelling in a police van.
The van was carrying the newly appointed police drivers from Koraput to reach the Angul training camp on the fateful day.
Spl DGP CID Crime Branch Bijay Kumar Sharma complimented the special police team led by Koraput SP for arresting Bandi.
Sharma tweeted, “Arrest of Madabi Bandi was possible bcos of hard work & sincerity of Koraput Police led by the Dist SP”.
