Paralakhemundi : A couple was allegedly murdered on the suspicion of practising sorcery in Odisha’s Gajapati district on Monday.
The deceased have been identified as Pattra Mallick and Sabita Mallick of Gaptima village under Mohana police limits in the district. Their bodies were found in Kudima forest near the village.
On being informed, Mohana police reached the spot and sized the bodies.
Prima facie, t seems Pattra was stabbed with sharp weapons in his chest while his wife was killed by slitting her throat, police said adding that red chilli powder was also thrown at their bodies.
The bodies were sent to a hospital for autopsy test and further investigation is on, police said.
