CM Naveen Patnaik inaugurates Gandhi Peace Centre in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today dedicated the Gandhi Peace Centre constructed near Khandagiri-Udaygiri caves to the nation in a grand ceremony.

The Centre set up instituted by the Aditya Birla Group on a land area of 5 acres aims at spreading the principles of non-violence among the denizens and side by side to awaken consciousness about the life and works of Mahatma, whose 150th birth year is being observed by the country.

While dedicating the project to the nation Naveen said, the Centre will act towards making people aware of the core values of the non-violence which in turn will help them solve several crucial issues of their lives.

Rajashree Birla, chairperson of Aditya Birla Centre for Community Initiatives and Rural Development hailed Naveen for his adherence to Gandhian values and claimed that Mahatma had a spiritual connection with Odisha.

The Gandhi Peace Centre incorporates cutting-edge technology to deliver information about Mahatma in Hindi, English and Odia languages. The brass statues at the Centre of it will a major attraction for people.

Notably, the state government had signed an MoU with the Aditya Birla Group in 2017 to set up the Centre. The MoU is valid for 15 years.
