Choudwar: In yet another case of sexual assault on minor girls in the state, police arrested a person from Bhagatpur Adivasi Sahi area under Tangi police limits in Cuttack district today, for outraging the modesty of a Class V girl of the same area.
The accused has been identified as Ganja Bengera.
As per the report, the victim girl who studies in Class V of Tangi Tulasipur Ashram School had been abducted by the accused from her house on October 19 when she was alone. After sexually assaulting the girl for over a day in a nearby forest the accused had dumped her in critical condition on a village road on October 20.
After the incident came to light and the victim’s family lodged a police case, the accused tried to mutually settle the matter and later threatened them to ostracize from the village.
However, police arrested the accused from his house this morning.
