Bhadrak : Expectant mother misbehaved in private clinic, Pharmacist held

Bhadrak: Bhadrak town police arrested a Pharmacist for allegedly misbehaving with an expectant mother who was admitted at a private nursing home in Odisha’s Bhadrak last night.

The accused has been identified as Manoj Kumar Sahu. He was working as a Pharmacist at Padhi Health Care, located at Gandhi Padia in the district headquarter town here.

According to report, one expectant mother of Jajpur area was admitted at the Padhi Health Care here on September 17. She delivered a baby boy by caesarean operation on next day morning. Both the woman and her baby boy were kept there for postnatal treatment.

Last night at around 8.30 PM, Sahu deliberately prescribed some medicines and sent the husband of the victim to bring the prescribed medicines from outside. He also asked other relatives of the woman to vacate the room citing health check-up.

Then, the accused locked the room from inside and allegedly misbehaved the woman.

Hearing her screams, the relatives rescued the woman and thrashed the Pharmacist black and blue.

On being informed, Bhadrak town police reached the spot and arrested the accused. “An investigation is on to the matter, the accused will be produced before the court today”, police said.
