AR Rahman to perform live in Odisha’s Cuttack

Bhubaneswar: Oscar and Grammy award-winning music composer AR Rahman will perform live in Cuttack as part the Odisha Men’s Hockey World Cup celebrations.

Rahman will perform in the Millennium City on November 28, a day after the inaugural ceremony of Men’s Hockey World Cup at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar.

Taking to his Twitter handle, the ‘Jai Ho’ fame singer said, “Delighted to announce that I shall be performing at the Millennium City, Cuttack, on 28th November as part of the Hockey World Cup celebrations #HWC2018 @Naveen_Odisha @TheHockeyIndia.”

Though the venue of Rahman’s live performance is yet to be decided, it is expected that he may perform either at Barabati or Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Cuttack.

The music maestro has also composed the official song for the mega event titled ‘Jai Hind Hind, Jai India’, lyrics of which has been penned by the celebrated lyricist-poet Gulzar. Besides, he had confirmed that he will be performing live at the opening ceremony of the World Cup at Kalinga Stadium alongside Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and others.

As many as 16 teams will take part in the tournament which will be held between November 28 and December 16.
