Another BJP MLA candidate joins BJD in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Yet another Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA candidate joined the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Tuesday ahead of the state Assembly and Lok Sabha polls in the state.

According to reports, BJP’s MLA candidate from Kakatpur Tusharkanti Behera joined the state ruling party in the presence of party supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

“I am very glad that Shri Tusharkanti Behera, senior BJP leader from Kakatpur joining the Biju Janata Dal (BJD).  I welcome him. He will strengthen the party,” said Patnaik while welcoming Behera.

Notably, Tusharkanti Behera had contested the 2014 Assembly polls from the Kakatpur with a BJP ticket unsuccessfully. Election to the Assembly constituency will be held in the fourth phase on April 29.

It is worthwhile to mention here that another legislator candidate of the saffron party from Anandapur constituency – Bhagirathi Sethi – had resigned from the party and joined the conch party earlier. Later, he was given BJD candidature from the same assembly seat.
