Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has decided to set up 34 child-friendly police stations in the state.
Recently, CM Naveen has directed officials to set up child-friendly police station in each district across the state.
The Chief Minister, realized the need for a special environment within the police station for children for various reasons.
It is noteworthy that, these police stations will have special facilities for children, the facilities will include special logos, signs and small libraries.
The child-friendly police stations will feature a variety of interesting books, magazines, and newspapers.
Beds, chairs, and tables will also be set up for the convenience of the children. There will also be information boards related to child rights.
Besides, there will be a special bulletin board with the name and detailed information on how to contact the child welfare officer.
In addition to all the above facilities, toys for children and first aid kits will also be integrated as a part and parcel of these police stations.
