18 places boil at temperature of 40 degrees Celsius or above in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: As many as 18 places of Odisha boiled at temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius in the State, informed the regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

Sonepur recorded today’s highest temperature of 44.2 degrees Celsius. This was followed by Jharsuguda and Sundergarh where the mercury rose to 44 degrees Celsius.

Here is the list of other locations which recorded temperatures of 40 degrees Celsius or above today:

  • Balasore – 40.4,
  • Angul – 42.1,
  • Sambalpur – 42.6,
  • Hirakud – 42,
  • Talcher – 42.5,
  • Bhawanipatna – 40,
  • Balangir – 43.2,
  • Titlagarh – 42.5,
  • Malkangiri – 41,
  • Boudh – 42.5,
  • Paralakhemundi – 41.5,
  • Jajpur – 40,
  • Bargarh – 43.5,
  • Deogarh – 42.8,
  • Nuapada – 41.4
