Balasore: One person has been killed in a road mishap that occurred infront of Madhuban Dhaba on national highway 60 near Jamalpur bypass in Balasore district late on Friday night. The deceased has been identified as Lakhmidhar Patra of Nayabazar area in Jaleswar.
Reportedly, a container truck carrying kurkure packets was en-route to Balasore from Kolkata when it hit a scooter on the road. Due to this the scooty rider and along with the vehicle was dragged almost upto 100 meter.
As a result, the scooty rider lost his life on the spot while the vehicle caught fire which also destroyed the kurkure packets inside the container truck.
The locals immediately informed the local police. On the other hand the officials of Jaleswar and Basta fire department arrived at the spot and doused the flames.
On getting the information, the Jaleswar police reached the spot, seized the body and initiated a probe into the matter.
