Keonjhar: In a tragic road mishap, at least one person was killed and two others sustained critical injuries after an SUV they were travelling by rammed into a roadside tree near Dhangardiha village under Ghatagaon police limits today.
While the identification of the victims could not have been made so far they are believed to be residents of Nayagarh.
As per the report, the victims were heading to Ghatagaon in some work from Nayagarh when the crash took place in the wee hours. It is being suspected that, the driver of the Tata Hexa vehicle bearing registration number- OD 15 H 0110 lost control over the wheels due to some reason and ended up hitting a roadside banyan tree.
The impact of the collision was so intense that the SUV got completely mangled from the spot leaving one person dead on the spot and rest two hurt critically.
Ghatagaon Police rushed to the spot and sent the injured for treatment to Ghatagaon CHC after sending the deceased for autopsy.
An investigation is underway in the incident.
