New Delhi: Ace sprinter Dutee Chand has been named in India Today’s 50 most powerful people in India this year.

Published in the August edition of the India Today magazine, Olympian Dutee has been ranked 47th in the annual High & Mighty list that is topped by the world’s 13th richest man – Mukesh Ambani.

The English magazine termed Dutee as India’s first openly ‘gay’ sportsperson in its brief description.

“India’s first openly ‘gay’ sportsperson, Dutee Chand won two silver medals at the 2018 Asian Games. She also won gold at the 2019 World Unversiade. With the gold, Dutee Chand became the second Indian sprinter ever to do so at a global event,” India Today wrote.
