Angul: Former Draftsman in CESU sentenced to rigorous imprisonment, ordered to pay fine in bribery case
The Special Judge, Vigilance, Angul today convicted Kulamani Pradhan, the former Draftsman in CESU, Angul (now retired) in a bribery case and sentenced him to rigorous imprisonment.
Angul: Kulamani Pradhan, the former Draftsman in CESU, Angul (now retired), was in a bribery case and sentenced to rigorous imprisonment by the Angul Special Vigilance Judge today.
According to reports, Pradhan was charge sheeted by Odisha Vigilance in a Case U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d)/7 P.C. Act,1988 for demanding and taking bribe Rs 5,000 from a complainant for domestic electric connection.
Today, he was convicted by the Special Judge and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of four years and to pay a fine of Rs 5,000.
Further, the convict was sent to jail custody to serve his sentence.
Odisha Vigilance will now move the competent authority for stoppage of pension of Kulamani Pradhan following his conviction.
Susant Kumar Mishra, the ex-Inspector, Vigilance, Cuttack Division, at present Vigilance DSP Bhubaneswar Division had investigated the case and Chandrakanta Das, A.P.P, Vigilance, Angul conducted the case on behalf of the prosecution.
