YSR Congress chief Jagan Mohan Reddy attacked at Visakhapatnam airport

Visakhapatnam: YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) President Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy was attacked with a knife by a restaurant waiter at the Visakhapatnam International Airport on Thursday afternoon, police said.

The accused waiter, identified as Srinivas from Mummidivaram in East Godavari district, was immediately taken into custody by the security officials and handed over to police.

According to reports, Srinivas sought Reddy’s permission for a selfie at the VIP lounge and the latter obliged him. However, the waiter stabbed the leader on his left shoulder while posing for the selfie.

YSRCP activists who were nearby overpowered the waiter and handed him over to the police.

Reddy left for Hyderabad after being given first aid at the airport.

When the last report came in, Reddy was undergoing treatment at Omega Hospital in Hyderabad.
