Kolkata: Veteran Bengali actor Soumitra Chatterjee passed away at the age of 85 today in Kolkata.
The actor took his last breath at 12.15 pm at Belle Vue Hospital, where he was admitted for the past 60 days after testing COVID positive.
After he tested negative for coronavirus, he was shifted to non-Covid Intensive Trauma Unit where he was under expert medical care to monitor his health.
Meanwhile, on October 9, his conditions deteriorated but he responded well to treatment the next day.
Later, the actor’s health condition extremely deteriorated over the past 48-hours and he was on ventilator.
The actor is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter.
