New Delhi: Resorting to action mode in response to the Pulwama terrorist attack in which Pakistan trained suicide bomber killed at least 45 Indian CRPF personnel yesterday, India today withdrew its ‘most favoured nation’ status from Pakistan.

Informing on the crucial decisions taken during the meeting to media, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said, a decision has been taken to isolate Pakistan in the world for such kind on crime against humanity. The Most favoured nation status granted to Pakistan now stands withdrawn, he maintained.

“MEA will initiate all possible diplomatic steps which are to be taken to ensure the complete isolation of Pakistan from the international community for having direct act in the Pulwama attack. People who are responsible and have patronized this act of terrorism will have to pay a heavy price for it,” warned Jaitly.

The meeting of Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) which started at around 9.15 am in the morning was chaired by PM Narendra Modi. A two-minute silence in memory of those who laid down their lives was observed.

A decision has been taken to convene an all-party meeting tomorrow to discuss the Pulwama incident, where government will convey all leaders on the steps being taken on it.
