New Delhi: In a major decision, the Supreme Court has refused to entertain a plea filed by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP Telangana) against the State’s Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.

According to reports, the plea against the CM had been filed challenging the Telangana High Court’s decision to quash a case against Reddy in connection with his alleged defamatory comments.

It is worth mentioning here that, during the 2024 Lok Sabha election campaign Reddy had said that the BJP would abolish reservations if it comes to power in Telangana. The Chief Justice of India led bench dismissed the case today by stating that the top court should not be converted into a forum to fight political battles.
