Prime Minister Narendra Modi is poised to lead the 77th Independence Day celebrations by raising the national flag at the Red Fort in Delhi.

New Delhi: India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to lead the country’s 77th Independence Day celebrations today. He will start by raising the national flag at the Red Fort in Delhi, and then he’ll give his special speech, which he has been doing for 10 years in a row. The ceremony begins at 7:30 a.m. today.

The Independence Day event is unique because around 1,800 people from different parts of the country have been invited to join the celebrations at the Red Fort. These special guests include various types of important people who do different kinds of work.

Some of the special guests are village leaders called Sarpanches; there are more than 660 villages they come from. There are also around 250 people who are part of a scheme to help farmers. Another 50 people are here because they are part of programmes that support farmers and provide job training.

People who are building important things, like the new Parliament Building, are also part of the celebration. 50 of these workers, called Shram Yogis, have been invited. And there are 50 each of people who make traditional cloth (Khadi workers), those who build roads at the borders, and those who help provide clean water to everyone.

The celebration also remembers the people who teach children, take care of sick people, and catch fish. They have each been invited to be part of this special day.

As everyone comes together to celebrate the day India became independent, Prime Minister Modi’s speech is expected to talk about how everyone in the country is working together for progress. The event shows how different people from different jobs and places are all united and proud of India.
