No Vaccination For 3 Days In Mumbai Due To Shortage Of Covid Vaccines

Mumbai: The vaccination drive against Covid-19 shall not be conducted in Mumbai city for the next three days from April 30 to May 2 due to lack of availability of doses.

The civic body took to Twitter and posted, “Owing to non-availability of vaccine stock, no vaccination will be conducted at any Govt/BMC/Pvt CVC for the next 3 days (30 Apr-2 May). All efforts are being made to make more stock available & resume the drive. We urge Mumbaikars to cooperate with BMC’.”

People will be informed through calls and messages once vaccines are available, said the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). The civic body has also urged the public not to crowd at vaccination centres once the inoculation drive restarts.

Meanwhile, the Maharashtra government extended the existing lockdown restrictions till May 15 in order to curb further the spread of coronavirus in the state.

Reportedly, prohibitory orders under section 144 of CrPC, remains in force whereas local train services and public transport are open only for emergency services personnel and frontline workers. Currently, vegetable shops, grocery stores and milk outlets are allowed to function only between 7 am and 11 am.
