Mumbai based woman accuses JSW Managing Director Sajjan Jindal of sexual assault

In a recent incident, a rape complaint was lodged against the Managing Director of JSW Group Sajjan Jindal.

Mumbai: In a recent incident, a rape complaint was lodged against the Managing Director of JSW Group Sajjan Jindal. The FIR was filed by a 30-year-old Mumbai based woman at the BKC Police station on Wednesday.

The statement made by the woman claims that the incident had occurred on January 24, 2022. The woman stated that she had first met Sajjan Jindal at an IPL match in Dubai in the year 2021.

The 30-year old woman further said that Jindal started getting personal and touchy, even after her objections. She alleged that Sajjan Jindal was romantically inclined towards her despite being married.

In January 2022, Jindal had taken the woman to a penthouse. The woman accused that despite her constant protests ad refusals, Jindal forced himself on her. She even accused that in June 2022 he threatened her with consequences in case she approached the police.

The complaint further said that in February 2023, she lodged a written complaint at the BKC police in connection with the incident. However, the complaint was paid no heed to. Finally, the complaint was registered on December 13, following an order from the Bombay High Court.

The case on Sajjan Jindal was registered against the following sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC): 376 (Punishment for rape), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 354 (outraging a woman’s modesty). Further investigation into the matter is underway.
