India Receives Ventilators And Oxygen Concentrators From United Kingdom

New Delhi:  The shipment of vital medical supplies including 95 oxygen concentrators and 100 ventilators have arrived at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi of India from United Kingdom today, said Ministry of External Affairs.

The wide-bodied passenger aircraft that carried the medical supplies was dispatched on Monday night.

Earlier on Monday, the country received As many as 318 oxygen concentrators from United States.

Similarly, Australia is likely to send oxygen, ventilators, and personal protective equipment (PPE) to India as part of immediate support package to the country whereas France announced to send 8 high capacity oxygen generators, liquid O2 for 2000 patients for 5 days&28 ventilators in order to support India.

It is noteworthy that various hospitals across the country continue to struggle with a severe shortage of medical oxygen.

India is struggling with a second wave of the pandemic with more than 3,00,000 daily new coronavirus cases being reported in the past few days.
