Trisha Krishnan’s philanthropy is creating ripples in the film industry. The actress and animal enthusiast recently gifted a life-like mechanical elephant, called Gaja, to two temples in Tamil Nadu: Sri Ashtalinga Athisesha Selva Vinayagar and Sri Ashtabhuja Athisesha Varahi Amman. This positive act is part of the efforts behind her work with People for Cattle in India (PFCI), a non-profit Trisha is working with to promote kindness and compassion.

Trisha also displayed the mechanical elephant at the temples on Friday and sponsored a vegan lunch for everyone who came. The vegetarian food was specially prepared to leave out any animal products, spreading a message of respect for animals and the earth. As per the X (formerly Twitter) post by PFCI, the signboard with the meal stated, “Just like our lifelike mechanical elephant encourages kindness to actual elephants, vegan food respects animals by leaving them off our plates.”.

Trisha was thrilled at the donation and said, “I’m totally delighted to be part of this lovely moment. Devotion radiates most when it’s based on compassion. Having a mechanical elephant join our temple rituals is a celebration of kindness, creativity, and culture. We hold our heritage in the highest regard but do so in a manner that causes no harm, only harmony”. Her act is regarded as a sign of advancement, where religion and compassion go hand in hand.

Through advocating for veganism and compassion, Trisha wants to encourage others to embrace a lifestyle that focuses on animal rights and the environment. This is no surprise, considering her publicized passion for animals. With her recent movies in production, such as Vishwambhara and Karuppu, Trisha is still juggling her acting career with her commitment to social causes.
