Squid Game season 2 teaser out, symbolizes expected horror

The most popular South Korean killer survival drama of 2021, ‘Squid Game,’ took the world by storm with its amazing story line and star cast. Since then, the show’s second season is being highly anticipated among the fans. The wait is about to be over, as Netflix dropped the teaser of its second season on Sunday, and announced that ‘Squid Game’is coming back. The dystopian show is about desperate people competing in deadly games for cash.

The short teaser features the animation of the animatronic doll that figured heavily in the show’s maiden season. “Red light GREENLIGHT” read the caption with the doll’s one eye flashing the number two.

Along with the teaser, the OTT platform also dropped a message by Hwang Dong-Hyuk– writer, director, producer, and creator of Squid Game. In his message for the fans, the director mentioned that it took 12 years for them to bring the first season to life last year. “But it took 12 days for ‘Squid Game to become the most popular Netflix series ever. As the writer, director and producer of Squid Game, a huge shout out to fans around the world” the message read.

Further in the note, he also thanked his fans for watching and loving the show. As well gave hints of what all excited could happen in the upcoming season. “Gi-hun returns. The Front Man returns. Season 2 is coming. The man in the suit with ddakji might be back. You’ll also be introduced to Young-hee’s boyfriend, Cheol-su. Join us once more for a whole new round,” stated Hwang Dong-Hyuk.

Squid Game was released in 2021 and became the most-watched Netflix original worldwide. The first season of the show starred Lee Jung-jae, Park Hae-soo, O Yeong-su, Wi Ha-joon, Jung Ho-yeon, Heo Sung-tae, Anupam Tripathi and Kim Joo-ryoung. However the star cast of the second season is yet to be known.
