BTS Members RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook begin military enlistment, BigHit Music confirms

BTS' Kim Namjoon aka RM, Park Jimin, Kim Taehyung aka V and Jeon Jungkook, have initiated the process of military enlistment.

Seoul: In a recent announcement, BigHit Music, the agency representing the globally acclaimed K-pop boy band BTS, shared that the remaining four members, Kim Namjoon aka RM, Park Jimin, Kim Taehyung aka V and Jeon Jungkook, have initiated the process of military enlistment. This news comes after Jin, Suga, and J-Hope had already begun their military service.

BigHit Music released a statement on Wednesday morning, stating, “Hello. This is BIGHIT Music. We would like to inform our fans that RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook have initiated the military enlistment process. The artists are preparing to fulfill their military service duties. We will inform you of further updates in due course. We ask you for your continued love and support for RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook until they complete their military service and safely return. Our company will spare no effort in providing support for our artists. Thank you.”

Following the announcement, BTS ARMY members shared their reactions on social media. Some expressed sadness, recognizing the inevitability of the situation. One fan commented, “Me sad that joon, tae, jimin and jk are enlisting but remembering this is the end of bighit enlistment notice era.” Another took a more optimistic stance, stating, “The next ‘hello, this is bighit music’ announcement will be Jin finishing his service.” Despite disappointment, fans shared encouragement, with one saying, “It is just a pre-notice, we still have a lot of time together.”

In South Korea, military service is mandatory for all men aged 18 to 28, lasting for 20 months. While individual BTS members have been active with solo projects ahead of enlistment, the group is anticipated to reunite in 2025.

As the K-Pop sensations embark on this new chapter, the BTS ARMY continues to stand by them, eagerly awaiting their return after completing their military service.
