Bombay high court grants bail to Rhea Chakraborty in drug case

Mumbai: The Bombay High Court on Wednesday granted bail to actress Rhea Chakraborty, Dipesh Sawant and Samuel Miranda, but denied bail for her brother Showik in the drugs case.

The court has instructed Rhea to surrender her passport and furnish a personal bond of Rs 1lakh.

Rhea was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) for procuring drugs through Showik and supplying them to Rajput. They have been booked by the NCB under various sections of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

Earlier, the Special NDPS Court has extended the judicial custody of the brother-sister and 18 others till Oct 20.

The NCB arrested Rhea on September 9 in connection to drug related probe that emerged from Rajput’s death case. Besides Rhea and Showik, The NCB has also arrested Sushant’s manager Samuel Miranda and Sushant’s domestic help Dipesh Sawant.
