In recent news, actors Jeetendra and Sachin Pilgaonkar paid a visit to their ailing friend Junior Mehmood after he expressed his wish to meet them. Veteran actor Junior Mehmood continues to battle for his life after getting diagnosed with Stage four liver and lung cancer in November.
Notably, the trio have shared the screen in several films during their early career days.
Sachin Pilgaonkar, a childhood friend of Mehmood, offered help during the visit. Mehmood’s children reportedly declined the offer, requesting prayers instead. The actors were part of popular films like ‘Bachpan,’ ‘Geet Gaata Chal,’ and ‘Brahmachari’ during their time as child artists.
Khalid Mahmood, a former journalist and filmmaker, shared Junior Mehmood’s wish on social media, urging Jeetendra and Sachin Pilgaonkar to fulfill his last desire. Shriya Pilgaonkar, Sachin’s daughter, confirmed of her father’s visit and connection with Junior Mehmood.
Jeetendra, along with comedian Johnny Lever, visited Mehmood, expressing deep sadness at seeing the actor in pain. Despite being by his bedside, Mehmood was unable to recognize Jeetendra due to his condition.
According to a friend of Junior Mehmood Salman Kazi, the actor had been unwell for two months, and his health deteriorated rapidly. Medical reports revealed stage four cancer in the liver, lungs, and a tumor in the intestine. As per doctors, he has only forty more days to live.
Junior Mehmood, known for his roles in over 200 films, including ‘Kati Patang’, ‘Brahmachari’, ‘Mera Naam Joker’, ‘Haathi Mere Saathi’, and ‘Caravan,’ has left a lasting impact on the entertainment industry.
