Third-gen Hyundai Creta launch in 2027
Hyundai has already begun work on the SUV’s third-generation model and plans to launch it in India in 2027.
Hyundai is reportedly working on the third-generation model of the Hyundai Creta. The next-gen Hyundai Creta might make its debut in India in 2027. The company introduced the second-gen Creta facelift in January last year.
Next-gen Hyundai Creta: what to expect
There is not much information known about the third-gen Creta. However, it has been tipped that the new midsize SUV has been codenamed SX3. The new-gen Creta SUV will be produced at the Hyundai’s plant in Tamil Nadu.
The third-gen Creta will likely continue to be offered in the same powertrain options as the current model, which are-a 115hp, 1.5-litre petrol; a 160hp, 1.5-litre direct-injection turbo-petrol; and a 116hp, 1.5-litre diesel, paired with either a manual or an automatic transmission.
However, as we’ve reported, there is potential for a strong hybrid powertrain for the next-gen Creta, which could become the Korean brand’s first hybrid model in our market. It will likely arrive after the Hyundai Ni1i SUV, which slots between the Alcazar and Tucson, and is likely to be powered by a combination of a 1.5-litre petrol engine and an electric motor.
Besides design updates, the third-gen model is also likely to get a longer features list and more safety equipment to ensure that the Hyundai Creta has elements in common with its stable-mates, both outside and inside the cabin.
Hyundai Creta Electric facelift launch in 2027
Apart from the ICE model, the Hyundai Creta Electric will also receive a mid-cycle refresh. The Creta Electric was launched at Auto Expo 2025 last month. Therer is not much information about what the update will entail. However, it is expected to arrive with some design tweaks, more tech and added creature comforts, and larger batteries or better battery-management software.
