Redmi Note 12 Turbo 5G with Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 SoC launched

Redmi Note 12 Turbo has debuted in China under the brand’s Note 12 series model. The newly-launched Redmi Note 12 Turbo is equipped with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chipset and a 5,000mAh battery with 67W fast charging support.

The company recently launched the Redmi Note 12 series globally, which includes the Redmi Note 12 5G, Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G, Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G, and the Redmi Note 12 4G. Reports have also stated that the company might add new additions of Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G and Redmi Note 12S handsets to the series.

Price

The Redmi Note 12 Turbo is available in four storage variants in China –  8GB + 256GB model, the 12GB + 256GB variant, the 12GB + 512GB model and the 16GB + 1TB storage option. The variants are priced at CNY 1,999 (around Rs 23,900), CNY 2,199 (around Rs 26,300), CNY 2,399 (around Rs 28,700), CNY 2,799 (around Rs 33,400), respectively.

Colours

Redmi’s Note 12 Turbo is introduced in Xinghai Blue, Carbon Black, Ice Feather White (translated) colour options. Furthermore, the company is also offering it in a special Harry Potter Edition.

Redmi Note 12 Turbo Harry Potter Edition

The special Harry Potter edition model comes in a package including a customised back cover, a custom card pin, and some stickers, while the back of the device features the the ‘Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry’ logo, Guardian deity “Stag” drawing, and an engraving of the Harry Potter logo. The rear camera slots are also made to resemble Harry’s signature glasses and lightning scars.

The Redmi Note 12 Turbo supports dual nano SIM and features a 6.67-inch full-HD+ (2,400 x1,080) AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz, a touch sampling rate of 240Hz, and a peak brightness of 1000 nits. The display has a 93.45% screen-to-body ratio, 1.95mm thickness on top, a 2.22mm thickness of chin, and 1.42mm on the sides. It has thinner bezels. The Note 12 Turbo ships with Android 13-based MIUI 14.

Processor, storage

Under the hood, the device carries Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chipset, paired with an Adreno GPU, up to 16GB LPDDR5 RAM, and 1TB UFS 3.1 storage. The storage can be expanded further via a microSD card.

Camera

The smartphone sports a glittery back panel that houses a triple rear camera with an LED flash. The camera unit has a 64-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2-megapixel macro lens. A 16-megapixel front camera is housed in a centred hole-punch cutout at the top of the display for selfies and video calls.

Redmi offers the Note 12 Turbo device with a 5,000mAh battery that supports up to 67W fast charging.

Other features of the phone includes 5G, 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, NFC connectivity, USB Type-C port for charging and an in-display fingerprint sensor. In terms of dimension, it weighs 181 grams, the handset measures 161.11mm x 74.95mm x 7.99mm in size.
