Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday congratulated Indian Football team and its captain Sunil Chetri on winning the Intercontinental Cup at the Mumbai Sports Arena yesterday.

Inspirational Indian captain Chhetri scored a brace to put himself on par with Lionel Messi and lead the home side to lift the Intercontinental Cup title triumph with a 2-0 win over Kenya in the summit clash.
Playing his 102nd international match Chhetri became the joint second highest international goal scorer with Messi, who had played 124 matches for his country. While Chhetri and Messi have scored 64 goals each, Cristiano Ronaldo of Portugal with 81 goals of 150 matches tops the highest international goal scorer list.
