Sonakshi helped me quit smoking: Shatrughan Sinha
Bhubaneswar: On the eve of Fathers’ Day, noted actor turned politician Shatrughan Sinha raised the slogan of ‘anti-tobacco’ and asked all fathers to follow suit. Speaking at the second edition of Shrie awards, he cited his own example of how his daughter and iconic Bollywood actor Sonakshi Sinha helped him quit smoking and asked all fathers to follow suit.
“I used to smoke a lot. My children, esspecially Sonakshi played a huge role in helping me quit smoking. On the eve of Fathers’ Day, I request all fathers to quit smoking for the sake of their children. To all the children, especially daughters, I urge to you convince your father to stop consuming tobacco,” Sinha said.
“Tobacco related diseases are on rise in our country. Instead of giving your children gifts, stop consuming tobacco. That will be a bigger gift for them,” he added.
Shatrughan Sinha is involved in a lot of anti-tobacco campaigns. “Once I used to smoke and today I have not only stopped smoking but am a part of several anti-tobacco campaigns. If I could do it, why can’t you”, he asked.
