Google May launch Pixel 5a 5G Smartphone in India this Year, Features Snapdragon 765G

Google will reportedly be launching the Pixel 5a 5G on June 11. There were many rumours surrounding the phone after the company announced that the Google Pixel 5a 5G will not be cancelled and will be available later this year in the US and Japan.

Now a report by 9to5 Google has revealed that the upcoming Pixel phone will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G SoC same chipset that powered the Pixel 5 and the Pixel 4a 5G which were launched last year.

As per the report, a phone model codenamed as Barbet which is rumoured to be the codename of Google Pixel 5a 5G was spotted along with “sm7250” model number in the latest release Android 12 Developer Preview 3.

The sm7250 is said to be the part number of the Snapdragon 765G SoC.

The chip was previously used to power the Google Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G.

The report has no other information on the specs of the Pixel 5a 5G. There is no confirmation on whether there will be a 4G version of the Pixel 5a.

The Pixel 5a is also tipped to be announced in India after it’s allegedly sighting at the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) website.

Popular tipster Steve Hemmerstoffer leaked some renders of the Pixel 5a 5G which revealed that it has a 6.2-inch FHD+ OLED screen with a punch-hole design and may sport a square-shaped camera module housing a dual-camera system and an LED flash.

The phone is also expected to have a fingerprint scanner.
