Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik to inaugurate Malkangiri Airport tomorrow

In the first phase, non-scheduled flights with a capacity of 20-30 passengers will operate to and from the airport that has a 1600-metre runway. Later, bigger flights will be introduced, said sources.

Malkangiri: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will inaugurate the newly constructed Malkangiri Airport tomorrow. As per his schedule, the CM will leave his residence in Bhubaneswar at 10.20 AM and will land in Malkangiri at 11.45 AM.

The CM will leave the Malkangiri airport at 12 PM after its inauguration. Chairman of 5T and Nabin Odisha, V K Pandian will accompany him.

Prior to the inauguration of the airport, trial run of the flight service was successfully carried out yesterday. A seven-seater VT-100 flight took off from Bhubaneswar at 11 AM with a pilot and two crew members and landed at Malkangiri airport at 12.15. It received water cannon welcome.
