Malkangiri: A Class 8 boy student of Kendragumpha Project High School in the district was found hanging from a tree on the school premises this morning.
The deceased identified as Bhimaraja Padiami, a resident of Tentuliguda area. As per reports, locals first spotted the body hanging from a tree and immediately informed the police.
Police have started an investigation after registering a case of unnatural death. “The father of the deceased had dropped him at the school on Tuesday. The school authorities said that there was pressure on him for studies which might have triggered the boy to take the extreme step,” said a police official.
Police said that the body has been sent for post-mortem. “We will also interrogate the school authorities to ascertain the reason behind the boy committing suicide,” added the police official.
